We have a lot of patterns for you in this issue!
Texture – we have the Falkland Gansey scarf and the Double or Nothing scarf
Shawl (top down) – take a look at the White Queen’s Shawl. Since it’s knit top-down you can use up all your yarn.
Illusion Heart crochet – great to try Tunisian crochet!
Crochet muff – flexible sizing perfect for your first crochet project or as a gift.
Geode Ruby – a cowl is a great choice for your first colorwork. Gauge and stretch aren’t critical. Just pick two colors with good contrast and go. Having trouble selecting colors? Use our post on selecting colors so you get the most out of your choice.
Hats – Make up the Gatehouse hat in one color or two. Try your hand at the Pastilles hat – use a MC and a few odds and ends. Or knit up Paw Prints – great for your next stranded project.
Elizabeth’s Tulips Hood and cowl – fun to crochet and a little girl gets a useable, buttoned cowl and hood when you’re done. Her parents will thank you for keeping her warm and the buttons help it stay on.
Concerned about crochet? Get started with our crochet stitch tutorials. Learn the basics and get your feet wet.
The Aurora cowl combines two colors with a slip stitch pattern. Although they’re mixed, you’re never knitting with more than one color at a time. Take a look at our tutorial on slipped stitches too.
Want to try your hand at Brioche? Our Belle Epoque cowl makes a great choice. And we’ll be publishing a tutorial on brioche stitch in case you need it.
And finally, our Bonte mitts are a fun way to get a little more cable goodness in your life. Make it quicker and read our tutorials on cabling without a cable needle and knitting a thumb gusset.
All our projects have been professionally tech edited so you can craft with confidence.
You outdid yourself this time! Truly gorgeous issue. Looking forward to NOT having a million things on the needles so I can give some of these a go! Congratulations to all the designers.
I’m so glad you like the issue. Thanks 🙂
Great patterns and tutorials!
Thanks! I’m glad you’re happy with things 🙂
Thank you for introducing me to “Design Seeds”. My goal in 2017 is to do a lot of colorwork to use up those many little balls of leftovers. Color choices can be challenging. I appreciate this help.
Sure thing! Design Seeds is great. Did you find any you particularly like?
