Sharkey's Crossovers by Carol Buchholz

I needed a scarf for my brother, a modern guy’s kind of guy, a builder and designer who prefers carpentry with a modern twist, a rabid Shark’s hockey fan.

This asymmetrical scarf is reversible and features a cable balanced by a simple rib, suggesting the traces of skates on the ice. Or it would if ice were teal.

Sizes

Approximately 8 inches by 6 feet.

Yarn

Cascade Cloud 9 (50% wool, 50% angora; 109 yards [100 meters] / 50 g): Color 141 Cerulean, 4 balls

Needles

US#9 (5.5 mm): straight or circular

Gauge

16 sts and 22 rows = 4” in St st. Gauge is not critical for this project.

Rows 3 – 8: Repeat Rows 1 and 2 three more times
Row 9: K1, p1, k1, p1, slip 8 sts to cn and hold in front, *k1, p1, rep from * 3 times, then *k1, p1 from cn, rep from * 3 times, k4, p4, k4, p4, k1, p1, k1, p1.
Row 10: Repeat Row 2.
Rows 11- 16: Repeat Rows 1 and 2 three times

Repeat Rows 1 through 16 for length of scarf ending on Row 1.
