Bliss by Melissa Goodale

When one of my closest friends announced she was pregnant I knew I had to make her a blanket. It needed to be more interesting than just a plain old rectangle, as the mom-to-be is a very talented knitter herself. So the Bliss Blanket, named in after its recipient, was born.

The blanket is done in entrelac with a twist; rather than plain stockinette the rectangles are done in a mistake rib. The superwash wool is perfect for a new mom; just throw it in the washing machine, no muss, no fuss.

Sizes

Approximately 28 inches x 28 inches (71cm x 71cm)

Yarn

4-color Version - Karabella Merino Superwash (100% Merino Wool; 91 yd [83 m] / 50g skein): colors 12553 (red), 12482 (brown), 12959 (blue), 2323 (green), 3 skeins each

Note - The sample was knit from 3 balls each of brown and blue and 2 balls each of red and green.  The pattern uses the same amount of yarn in each color, so we're playing it safe and recommending 3 balls of each color. We don't want you to run out of yarn!

Variegated Version - Artyarns Supermerino (100% Merino Wool; 104 yd [95 m] / 50g skein): color 154, 8 skeins

Needles

Size US #7 (4.5 mm) needles: 1 32-inch circular needle.  Adjust needle size as necessary to obtain gauge.

Gauge

18 sts and 26 rows = 4 inches (10cm) in stockinette stitch

Notions

Tapestry needle.
