The Summer 2009 issue is now on the new platform!
This one took a lot longer than anticipated, but it’s here! I haven’t done the redirects yet but they’ll be in place in a few weeks.
What does this mean for knitters?
- Mobile-friendly design. This means for the 50% of you coming from a smart phone or tablet, the site will look good for you.
- Images are easier to view and share.
- Charts too.
- And schematics.
- Thanks to several of you for helping me test this. I hope this is done *fingers crossed*
- All of the ads are also converted and I removed ones that went to a non-existent site. (I know you guys don’t love ads but something’s gotta pay the bills!)
- We’re one issue closer to a single search bringing back all of knotions patterns!
One fun thing for me is getting to see the designs all over again. I forgot how cool Sunny Sunny Sunny (girls’ dress) was (knit *and* sewn!). People have really had fun with the combos on the one.
And the Tesla wrap with its wearable lace – one of my faves – is a great excuse for a skein of silk and seacell. Or bamboo. Or rayon. You get the idea.
This is exactly what I think of when I imagine warm weather knitting – easier pieces that travel well and wear comfortably in the nicer weather.
I really wish it was easier to convert from DNN to Wordpress but I’ve talked with several people who say it’s not. If you have a good suggestion please let me know!
Only a few (3 issues plus 3 special releases) more to go. Dare I say what my goal is? I don’t want to jinx it…
Congratulations! Such lovely patterns!
thanks! i’m really happy that another issue is behind me. and it was fun to work with all those patterns after so much time!
