I have a lot of WIPs. A LOT. So that also means I have a lot of bags. A LOT.
Here are some of my faves and how I use them.
My Ultimate Favorite Bag Company
Unsurprisingly, 3 Bags Full is my go to bag. They’re well-made, come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and (very important to me) lots of fabrics including many with wine glasses, cats and other animals.
Many of them have a carry/hand strap, an interior pocket and a zipper. The zipper is a necessity for me when living with 2 cats.
Close Runner Ups
aka – still quite nice and worth a look
Know Knits
These were (I think?) the first bags I purchased and I use them to this day.
Their fabric is sturdy and fun (I think it’s a type of parachute fabric?) so it’s lightweight but strong.
And they have a slider at the top of the bag so it’s easy to keep prying paws outside of it.
Knitting Cooler
Stick with me here.
I spend a lot of time on our patio during the warm months, either knitting or watching the Yankees (if you’re not a Yankees fan, insert your TV-watching sport/non-sport of choice).
I like leaving projects out there over night. And let’s face it – even if I don’t choose to leave them out over night, I often forget and leave them out there anyway. Remember that wine glass I mentioned above?
So, I needed something to protect projects from the elements and critters, both day and night, regardless of the weather.
I also needed something that was easy to tote everywhere so I could work on it wherever I was.
I thought a bag would do the trick until I unintentionally left one out there over the winter. We found it when we opened the patio – a little ball of yarn in it from a project that I finished last year and the bag moldly and mildewy from being left out there all winter.
Ugh!
So now the knitting cooler fits the bill perfectly. It’s red and white so I’m unlikely to forget it out there. It sits on the ground so it fits almost anywhere. It has a handle so it’s easy to carry around. And it covers the yarn and needles nicely when it’s closed.
I really have to thank Paul (my husband) for suggesting this because given my love for bags, I never would have considered anything else.
All Joking Aside
I truly love everything I linked to/mentioned above, including the Knitting Cooler. The bags all make me smile and the cooler works so well to keep things protected and accessible.
And isn’t that what bags/holders are all about?
I absolutely loved this post. Not just for the great info on the bags (and I LOVE bags) but because of the great cooler tip and your sense of humour!
awesome! i’m so glad you liked it and found it useful 🙂
The cat print holder bag is so cute.
