Brioche forms a squishy and reversible fabric. You get ribbing and larger stitches.

CO an even number of sts.

Setup Row

For the first row, you need to:

Wyif, sl1.

Yo (take the yarn from the front to the back, over the right hand needle)

You now have 3 sts on your right needle.

These steps form the setup. Do this for every 2 sts on your needle. Turn.

Brioche Row

This is the same as the setup row. Here it is again.

Wyif, sl1.

Yo (take the yarn from the front to the back, over the right hand needle)

You now have 3 sts on your right needle.

Repeat these steps until the end of the row,

Repeat the Brioche Row until you’re done.

It will take a few rows before the brioche starts to take shape:

Binding Off in Brioche

P1 (just a regular P1 – it’s not pictured). Then, knit the next 2 sts together.

Then, do the regular bind off thing and pass the one stitch over the next.

When you get to the end, you’ll just have one st rem. Clip the yarn and pull it through. You’re done!
