US 11 (8.0 mm) circular needle with a long cable. Or size needle that produces a fabric you like.
Gauge
Gauge is not critical for this project. The ball band has a gauge of 18-19 sts and 23-25 rows per 4″/10cm
Size
The sample produces a shawl with a drop of 74 cm (29 in) and 142 cm (56 in) across.
For an airier shawl, follow the more aggressive blocking instructions below. This will produce a shawl with a drop of 100 cm (39 in) and 2.2m (87 in) across. It is designed to be easily re-sizeable.
