We have a great issue with 11 free patterns in November 2016! Shawls, socks, cowls, a hat and a bag are just some of the designs in this issue.
Here are a few of the fan favorites…
AOE socks
These socks are so much fun because you get to make your own unique socks with a roll of the dice.
You get cables, lace, cuff-down construction and a heel flap. So, just enough to keep in interesting and just enough to make it familiar. If the die rolling sounds complicated, we’ll be posting a few tips later this week to keep it fun and doable.
Beatrice’s Retort Shawl
This is a great shawl to make as a warming layer or as an accessory. Wear it under your coat like a light scarf or with an outfit to dress it up a bit. The DK weight yarn works up quickly so you can have this piece for most of the cold months.
The garter stitch body is easy to work and the lace stitches give just the right amount of frill without becoming “too”.
Don’t you just love the way that white top shines through the holes of the lace? Make on with a great contrast to an outfit for a statement or coordinate it for a gorgeous layer.
Marine Layer Cowl and Mitts
The mitts are a great insulating piece and the cowl is a great layer for keeping the chill off.
Both piece use two colors of yarn so you can coordinate with a lot of outfits. The samples show two different shades of the same yarn, but it would be equally striking in red and black or orange and pink. (Hint – look for our famous color variations posts next week to see a few other options)
We have more patterns than just these so take a look at the whole issue. Shawls, socks, cowls, a hat and a bag are just a few of the free patterns waiting for you.

These are all great pieces!! Really like the fun idea of rolling a dice to do an interesting pair of socks!!
Me too 🙂 I think it’ll be a fun way to knit a pair of socks 🙂
