I have a love/hate relationship with summer knitting. I know that may seem like an unusual way to start a letter from the editor of a knitting magazine, but it’s true.
On one hand, I love to knit, and it doesn’t matter the season.
On the other hand, I love cables, knitting with wool, and dream of making toasty pullovers to insulate me when it snows. Hardly summer-friendly.
I know a lot of you feel the way I do about summer knitting, and many of you live in warmer climates, so I tried to address it head on with a variety of warm weather friendly designs; projects that are truly wearable in the warm weather, and projects that are well suited for the hot months. I can see myself making any one of the tops in this issue to wear during the summer, and I’d love to work up any of the socks or lace projects to keep my fingers working when the temps get high. And I hope you all do too.
Let us know if we’ve hit the mark. Feedback is very important to us so leave a comment on our blog, in our Ravelry group, or drop me a line. I’d love to hear what you think.
