Ah, crafting in the cooler weather. Is there anything better?
We have cowls to keep you toasty in the early morning, shawls to warm you up when you’re inside, mittens to make you feel both insulated and pretty, and several others too.

Drawing with Yarn
Texture, slipped stitches and using multiple yarns – these projects really know how to pack a punch.
Combining Colors
Using more than one color can make such an impact on your project. And if you don’t want to do that – use a yarn that undulates from one color to the next and let the yarn do all the work.
Short Rows FTW!
Short rows allow you to shape the fabric so it’s not just flat and straight. See the way the cowl goes up on the right? That’s there to help guard you from the wind but avoid it being too high in the front. Smart.

And of course, we’ll be back next month with more free patterns…
Thank you for another month of beautiful patterns. I hope to knit the little pinafore for my great-grandaughter’s Christmas gift this year!
i love the pinafore! i’d make it if i had a little girl to knit for.
do you know what color you want to make it in?
