You guys are loving Inis Oírr and I can see why!
What a beauty! And for all this work you get a wrap or a blanket. No fussing with sizing. If your gauge is slightly off…you still get a usable wrap or blanket. Gain or lose a little weight and you still have…a usable wrap or blanket. Give as a gift to a baby and you’ve given an heirloom that can be used now *and* later.
Knit along with us. Inis is a BIG wrap/blanket so you’ll need help from your peers to keep going. You know what it’s like when someone posts pics and eggs you on? We’re all for some peer pressure and peer support. And we’ll be here right along with you.
I started one in Lake Heather this weekend. I still have A LONG way to go. Won’t you join me? I could use some nudging too. Nobody likes to lose.
We’ve starting a thread in Ravelry so it’s easy to post your progress. We also have some tutorials planned and Kelly – the designer – will be here to help as well.
Contest
Enter to win 10 skeins of Valley Yarns Northampton in the color of your choice (sponsored by Webs). Northampton is a gorgeous worsted weight 100% wool (the same yarn Kelly used above). Northampton is just slightly lighter weight than Cascade 220 – it’s about 10% lighter than Cascade 220. I honestly didn’t notice the difference – I’m going purely on weights (247 yards versus 220 yards per 100 grams). Like Cascade 220 it’s *not* superwash so it can be felted. I suspect they can be interchanged but I haven’t checked to confirm.
Either way this is a gorgeous yarn you’d be proud to give as a gift project.
Leave a comment on this post with your preferred color and you’re entered! It’s that easy. The contest will run through Sunday August 28th and we’ll announce the winner on the 29th.
Good luck! And don’t forget to post in the Ravelry thread to be included in the KAL. We’ll have some more contests and prizes too.

I think it would be perfect to work Inis Oírr in Charcoal. You could pair it with just about anything then and I’d probably try to wear it in the middle of the summer even though I live in Florida.
I love the yarn–have used it before, but would love enough for this luscious wrap!
Ocean Heather is my favorite color of the moment!
Ocean Heather
What a lovely pattern! I would love to make it in ‘Fawn’!
I loved the Garnet, but if that is out of stock, the Merlot Heather would be awesome as well.
Love this pattern and the yarn.
I’d love to try in the sage heather
I would probably make it in Bright Pink . . . or raspberry…or . .
I would use either the charcoal, dark grey, or any of those luscious heathers. It would so difficult to choose, but wouldn’t it be such fun to knit one or more up in this yarn??
Great contest! Would love to make it in Dahlia 21. Thank you!
I would love to make this is Sage Heather!
