Watson Crick is a mid-calf sock with is a graphic representation of DNA.
The socks have a mirrored pattern of spiraling cables with garter stripes. The leg has the cable and stripe pattern on the front and back, the foot has the stitch pattern only on the top with a stockinette sole. They are worked from the top down with a traditional slipped stitch heel flap, heel turn and a wedge toe.
The sock begins with a 2 by 2 rib in a twenty row cuff. The spiral cable pattern is worked once front and back for the leg. The heel flap is then worked in slip stitch and the heel turned. Stitches are picked up down the sides of the heel flap and the sock is worked in the Rnd again, continuing the stitch pattern on the top of the sock only and decreasing the gusset stitches. The sock ends with a wedge toe.

About the Designer: Theresa Shingler
I am a designer of contemporary knitting patterns. trying to find the fun in day-to-day life, one stitch at a time.
Based in the UK, I constantly find inspiration in the world around me. I aim for an engaging knit, that is achievable with an accurate well written pattern. I love a simple line, alleviated with textural or color detail.
