Mossflower Cowl

This cowl is a companion to the Mossflower Sweater from the October issue.  It’s available in two circumferences for ultimate warmth and features cables with lots of moss stitch. Wear this cozy cowl with everything, especially around the house when the weather cools and chilly winds howl outside. With multiple ways to be worn, this cowl keeps your neck warm without the extra loose ends of a scarf and is a perfect companion to any outfit.

Pattern Notes

This cowl is worked from the bottom up in the round.

Pattern

With smaller needle, CO 145 (294) sts.  Join to knit in the round making sure to not twist sts.  Pm for beg of rnd.  Beg with a purl rnd, work garter st in the rnd (purl 1 rnd, knit 1 rnd) for 4 rnds. Change to larger needle.

Please remember that garter stitch in the round is one round of purls followed by one round of knits. It’s not knit every round.

Set Up Rnd:  *K29 (31), pm, k12, pm, k5, pm, k9, pm, k5, pm, k24, pm, k5, pm, k9, pm, k5, pm, k12, pm, k30* [for size L, work from * to * once more.]

Note: Please be sure to read the entire round before you proceed. There are different instructions at the end if you’re working the size L.
