Fall is always such a great time for new patterns. There’s always such inspiration – cables, colors, shawls, hats, socks and cardis. It’s a great time to be a knitter. The weather is cool enough to knit outside and wear handknits outside (at least in the morning and in the night).
Here are a few of my favorites but they change constantly. I haven’t checked Ravelry yet today but I’m sure something else is waiting for me. It’s almost enough to make me cry “Inspiration Overload” but of course then I remember – Rhinebeck is only a month away. And boy do I get inspired when I walk those fairgrounds!
All designs are pictured above and start at the upper left.
Mendia hat 50% off next few days – All those cables are just at the beginning and ribbing makes for a forgiving knit. There are eyelets near the ribbing to keep you interested.
Thompson River socks – Mostly one color with a little bit of pop. The stranded colorwork is just on the leg so it’s a great intro to colorwork.
Crazy Cat hat – I know a lot of you are cat lovers. Knit one for your favorite feline friend. And if you can’t have an actual cat, isn’t a hat second best?
Kakano hat FREE – Great hat for you or a gift. Love the texture.
Alinda Wrap – Eyelets to scrunch up under a coat to keep you warm in style.
Kisses by the Sea Shawl – Three colors and texture – this shawl has it all. Garter, lace and a picot bindoff.
A Shawl for Ann – Great use of a gradient yarn and named in honor of Ann Budd’s birthday. Gotta love a shawl with such a great pedigree.
Brooklyn Tweed Mohr Cardi – I’m planning to use the cable in a blanket.
What are some of your favorites this fall?
