We did a tutorial on the Bubble Stitch on Wednesday, but we thought a review of some different color options for the Pastilles hat would be good too.
Here’s the original. It’s very pretty (she who LOVES all things pink says). And I love the fact that the hat only uses one color PER ROW. It’s not stranded!
But what if grey and pink isn’t your thing? Or you have this one color leftover in your stash that you just need to use?
You could always read our article on selecting colors. It gives you some great ideas.
Or you can look at a couple choices right here for inspiration.
I used the Design Seeds web site for colors. I went to their blog so I would get an assortment of colors. I didn’t want to be too influenced by my own likes and dislikes (although two of the three do have animals, and the other has flowers so they’ve somehow crept in)
Here are a few I liked.
Creature Color (because, well, cat)
I’d smile every time I saw that hat because it would remind me of this pic with the cat just sitting there minding its business.
And also – I love that blue! It’s so different from the grey that Katrine used but still really mellow.
Paper Flora (because, flowers)
I’d probably do the darker green as the main color, but it would also be cool with the pink or lavender, right? I know I said my preferences wouldn’t creep in but how do they not?
Another Creature Color (but this one – because, Orange!)
Clearly, this one needs orange. Period. With some dark grey, light grey and light orange for the bubbles.
There are so many possibilities with this hat. What are your favorite color combos?
