Here are this month’s most popular patterns on Ravelry.

Even if you’re not interested in making them, looking at them is fun.

Common Themes

These 4 patterns have a few things in common:

• look great with handdyed yarn (Hitchhiker, Hermione’s, Barley and Sockhead)
• Easy to work – yep, all 4 again
• Keeping you warm – Barley and Sockhead. I suspect this will change with the weather. I mean, who wants to make a hat in June?
• Simple stitches let the yarn shine – all of them

A Look at Each Design

It’s no wonder the Hitchhiker has been popular for so long. It’s an easy to work shawl, requires no purls, and allows you to use up all your yarn.

Hermione’s is a simple knit and purl pattern, works well with a lot of yarns, and looks great with handdyeds.

Barley is the same thing in a lot of ways. It works well with many yarns and has a simple knit and purl pattern.

And Sockhead too. It’s a great design and works well with a lot of yarns.
