Berroco Lanas Quick
Needle: 8mm/U.S. 11 metal sharp tips
Gauge: 12 sts/4″
Fiber Content: 100% Wool
This is a gorgeous yarn with wonderful heathers and color-injected mélange shades!
With a big range of colors, you can choose among blues, reds, purples, turquoise, black, browns and other naturals.
Experience Level: Beginner (FYI – 8mm is the largest I’d go for a beginner knitter)
Berroco Lucca
Needle: 4.5mm/U.S. 7 metal sharp tips
Gauge: 20 sts/4″
Fiber Content: 50% Cashmere, 50% Cotton
I’m seeing a lot of winter yarns mixed with cotton and this is another great addition! It’s easy to knit with and lighter to wear because of the cotton!
Lucca is available in a traditional Berroco palette of adult shades.

Berroco Remix Chunky
Needle: 6mm/U.S. 10 metal sharp tips
Gauge: 14 sts/4″
Fiber Content: 30% Nylon, 27% Cotton, 24% Acrylic, 10% Silk, 9% Linen
If you like Remix, this is a great larger-gauge addition!
Like the others, it’s machine wash so it’s easier care. And the fiber mix is more comfortable to wear indoors too!

Berroco Topaz
Needle: 5mm/U.S. 8 metal sharp tips
Gauge: 18 sts/4″
Fiber Content: 72% Wool, 20% Alpaca, 8% Nylon
This is a lovely option if you’re looking for a single with a little extra!
The thick-thin also keeps it interesting for both the maker as well as the wearer.
Experience Level: Intermediate/Advanced (I teeter between the two because thick-thin and single could be a challenge for some)
Berroco Vintage Baby
Needle: 4mm/U.S. 6 metal sharp tips
Gauge: 22 sts/4″
Fiber Content: 52% Acrylic, 40% Wool, 8% Nylon
When I first heard the name, I envisioned lots of pale shades and pastels. But I couldn’t have been more wrong!
Although it does come in traditional baby colors, there are lots of mature shades to choose from too!
This DK option is both machine wash AND dry, making it a wonderful choice for items that get lots of wear or gifts for people who won’t want to block every time (and who wants to do that?)

Jody is the founder and lead editor of Knotions. She loves poring over stitch dictionaries and trying out new stitches. And while she likes all things crafting (well ok, except that one thing), yarn crafts are her true love (and she has the stash to prove it).
She’s a serial starter-of-projects and has a serious problem with finishing things without a deadline.
And don’t get her talking about hand-dyed yarns. You’ve been warned.
