Store, dispense and keep your needles safe (and safely away from others)
How many times have you said…
“Damn it! I can’t find my darning needle!”
“How many [insert expletive here] darning needles do I have to buy?”
“I can’t find a darning needle just when I need one.”
I’ve often thought these (and other “creative” things too) whenever I need a darning needle. They’re tiny so they hide everywhere. And, they’re blunt (by design) so I can’t put them in a pin cushion with the rest of my needles.
I just thought it was the way with yarn crafters. You lose needles. A lot.
A Better Way?
But, enter the Needle Space to hold them tidily in one place so I always know where to find them.
Honestly, I didn’t appreciate the sheer brilliance of this until the inventor sent one to me to review. Like I always do, I put it to work to see what all the fuss was.
At first, I thought – “interesting, but not a huge change”.
And then, I realized the sheer genius about this little holder. Whenever I needed a darning needle, I knew right where to find it. And, the protective outer plastic kept them safely away from prying paws. And, with 3 cats, I surely know about prying paws.
Yes, Yes There Is
To be able to quickly find my darning needles whenever I need one is HUGE. No more mad searches of EVERY.FREAKING.CABINET. I know right where to find them whenever I need them.
The Needle Space also has a small inner pocket to hold things securely as well. I use mine to hold stitch markers, but I’ve been told it’s the perfect size to hold a small seam ripper too. I love that because those are the two things that I always seem to need and never seem to be able to quickly find – darning needles and scissors.
Another Gadget?
Those of you who know me, know that I’m not a fan of getting a gadget just to have another gadget. But this Needle Space is well-worth it!
- Store your darning needles
- Store your snips
- Get them at a moment’s notice
These are priceless! Not having to search and pull out a bunch of things just to find that one item that always seems to be in the least-convenient spot? For me, it’s as good as a needle case is for helping me find my needles.
Great Thing in a Small Package
So, do yourself a favor and get a Needle Space. And get one for each friend who’s a crafter of any type. Be the hero in your group.
Needle Space is proof that great things DO come in small packages.
I bought a Needle Space and love it! I believe in recycling, however, I love its true convenience and it’s the first 3D-printed product I have ever had. Call me lazy but it is just the kind of convenience I like – I don’t even have to open a lid or hunt down my yarn needle when I’m ready to weave in final tails. It’s flat so it will not roll off the table, and I can use my choice of either plastic or steel yarn needles right next to each other in the same flip out holder. And the additional interior storage makes it even better. It’s a great product that is also fun to use! Thank you for this unique dream box! I really, really LOVE it!
I’m so glad you’re enjoying your Needle Space! Now that I have one, I use it all the time. This is one of those things I never knew I needed until I got it.
I use empty pill bottles. I take the labels off, wash them, and with the child-proof cap, they’re safe if you have kids around. They’re free, so if you need more than one, or have them in different sizes, they can be used to store other notions. If you want to be really organized, you can make labels for the bottles so you know which items go in each bottle.
Other useful storage containers are Altoid tins. I use them for knitting notions, and can even fit a rolled up tape measure in them. Hubby uses them to store small items in his garage workshop.
No need to spend money on other things that I can use to buy more yarn. 🙂
I can see your point!
I’ve seen people use Altoid tins too. Not my thing but I see your point!
