Sesia Pura Lana Ecologica
Needle: 5mm/U.S. 8 metal sharp tips
Gauge: 16 sts/4″
Fiber Content: 50% Virgin Wool, 50% Alpaca
While you might think this is just another workhorse yarn, you’d be missing out!
The loose plies give the yarn a wonderful lightness.
The alpaca gives it a lovely softness and drape.
The color palette (both naturals and marls) make for timeless pieces worth your time and effort.

Stacy Charles Bianca
Needle: 5.5mm/U.S. 9 metal sharp tips
Gauge: 16 sts/4″
Fiber Content: 100% Wool
The chainette construction is a fun yarn to work on!
The entire line is made of heathered shades – the chainette in the middle is covered by a fuzzy wool in a different shade!
All of this makes a yarn that’s both fun to make and great to wear.

Stacy Charles Megan
Needle: 5mm/U.S. 8 metal sharp tips
Gauge: 18 sts/4″
Fiber Content: 50% Extra Fine Merino, 50% Polyester
You get 2 colors with Megan! The inside (polyester) and the outside (merino that’s blow through that inner tube).
I loved working with Megan because it’s so different! And in a sea of many of the same, it’s wonderful to get such a unique and different yarn!
Experience Level: Intermediate/Advanced (the 2 different fibers can make it a bit more challenging, as can the grippy nature of the wool outer layer.
Tahki Gunnison
Needle: 5mm/U.S. 8 metal sharp tips
Gauge: 20 sts/4″
Fiber Content: 57% Wool, 43% Polyacrylic
Want a gorgeous single ply with pops of color? Gunnison might be just the thing for you.
The dappled colors are a great way to get color-coordination by an expert.
Experience Level: Beginner/Intermediate (it’s smooth, so good for beginner but the single ply makes it more intermediate)
Tahki Highland Roving
Needle: 12.75mm/U.S. 17 metal sharp tips
Gauge: 8 sts/4″

If you want the thickness of a Super-Bulky but with grown-up changing shades – Highland Roving could be great for you!
I also love the way a single looks and this one doesn’t disappoint!
Experience Level: Advanced (the Super-Bulky combined with a single puts it in Advanced for me)

Jody is the founder and lead editor of Knotions. She loves poring over stitch dictionaries and trying out new stitches. And while she likes all things crafting (well ok, except that one thing), yarn crafts are her true love (and she has the stash to prove it).
She’s a serial starter-of-projects and has a serious problem with finishing things without a deadline.
And don’t get her talking about hand-dyed yarns. You’ve been warned.
