Assembly
With right sides of body pieces together, join yarn into any st with sl st, ch 1, sc in same space, sc in next 102 sts. 103 sts. Note: you’re joining two-thirds of the way around. This creates an opening for the top of the bag.
Finish off & weave ends in. Turn bag right side out.
Felting
While Patons Classic Wool Roving felts beautifully, I strongly urge you to test your washing machine & yarn with a sample piece prior to felting the pieces of your bag. This will allow you to determine felting time for your unique work.
Place your pieces in the washer & fill to smallest capacity with hottest setting on your machine. Add a bit of dry laundry soap if available. DO NOT add jeans or towels to felt faster: these will pill into your work.
Start machine cycle.
Every 5 minutes or so, check felting progress. Your item still has felting power as long as you still see some stitch definition.
Be careful not to over-felt: felting is non-reversible & over felting will result in a smaller bag.
Once felting is finished, remove bag from machine. If you used laundry soap, rinse your pieces in warm water.
Reshape your pieces into perfect circles if required.
Leave to completely air dry. This may take a few days.
Finishing
Handles
Sew or glue 1st applique to the outside of the bag, at the top (near opening), aligning edges together. If using a magnetic closure, insert 1st half here.
Trace a circle inside the applique, 1’’ from edge. I used a drinking glass for this process =) Cut out the middle through both applique & body using an x-acto knife. Sew or glue inner edges together.
Repeat on other side with 2nd applique (and 2nd half of magnetic closure if applicable).
Inner pocket
Sew or glue 3rd applique halfway around on the inside of the bag, aligning the top edge of the pocket with the bottom edge of the handle.
Button
Attach decorative button under applique.
About the Designer: Julie Desjardins / ACCROchet

In French, “accro” means addict. ACCROchet is a play on words that goes a long way to explaining the person behind the brand: a 40 year old French-Canadian woman named Julie, who is, of course, a crochet addict.
By day, Julie is a Marketing and Communications professional in an out-of-home advertising firm – a job she loves; but her passion comes out after the 9 to 5, when she can finally sit down and create pretty things with yarn and a hook.
Julie’s family holds many people together: a man, two teenagers, a big dog and a small dog, and a very fat cat. They all live in a pretty blue house on the North shore of Montreal, in the province of Québec.
Julie keeps all of these lovely people and pets far, far away from her yarn and hooks, except for the female teenager who will periodically join her in the madness of a few stitches, or sometimes even an entire finished project.
