My inspiration for Serenity of Sage comes from the peaceful hiking trails of Daley Ranch near my home, the Sage trail being one of my favorites. It’s a new day and the sun has just come up and the morning air is cool. Meditative sounds of putting one foot in front of the other as I walk the uneven trail. Watching the long grass sway in the cool breeze, a bunny crossing a desolate path, and the quietness all around is soothing to my senses.
Worked in two colors, Serenity of Sage is a garter lace shawl using variations of the meditative knit stitch and yarn overs. The shawl begins with a striped garter stitch triangle, worked top-down. You will then pick up stitches around the bottom edge and continue with a garter lace pattern and an eyelet lace garter border that blocks to a pointed scalloped edge.
