It Started Out Fine
I had an idea and I tried it out.
But it *really* didn’t work. It folded over and flared badly.
I kept on going though because this is often the case with Stitchopedias. You know how I tell you NOT to do something? It’s often because I tried it and it was horrible.
So, I Tried Another
This one *was* better. And I considered making it THE one.
I let it go for a day. And it very much was NOT good enough.
While I do have an idea for a Third one, there’s no way I’ll be done in time.
You guys deserve to be sure that if you read it in a Stitchopedia that it’s good.
For now, I have 2 ways of NOT making it. I keep reminding myself of what Edison said – that he didn’t fail, but that he found 2,000 ways of NOT making a lightbulb.
So, no picot cuff for toe-up FOR NOW. I’ll come back to it after I have a break. Right now, I’m reminded of what my mom would say to me when I misbehaved: that she could teach me how to fly – out of a third-story window.
About the Writer: Jody Richards
Jody is the founder and lead editor of Knotions. She loves poring over stitch dictionaries and trying out new stitches.
She’s also on a mission to get everyone to embrace the blocking. And, to avoid using garter stitch edges in knit swatches made for gauge.
And while she likes all things crafting (well ok, except that one thing), yarn crafts are her true love (and she has the stash to prove it).
