This tile design is from my paternal great grand-aunt’s pattern note book. She was a single woman living in the city and worked as a caretaker for the elderly. This pattern is typically used in mittens in Nordic countries.
The slipper is a very typical Finnish design, usually knitted in garter stitch squares. I remember my maternal grandmother knitting lots of these slippers.
I love the flower design. It reminds me of Greece and the tile motifs that decorate every surface! You don’t see such extensive tilework in the Nordic countries, maybe a contrasting tile here or there, but not a whole floor!

About the Designer: Artesanitarium Designs
Artesanitarium Designs is a one-woman show run by Annina from Finland, a distant, cold land.
She creates her designs thinking outside the box. They are made to be practical, beautiful, and easy to make and maintain. They often have a secret feature or are multi-purposed in some way and they are most often inspired by nature, fantasy, or sci-fi.
Annina has been designing since she was a little girl and she now has a portfolio of over 100 designs.
You can find her on Ravelry as Artesanity, follow her on Instagram as @artesanitarium, or visit her website.
