These bobbles are worked in a different color than the plain parts of the row.
While this extra step does take more effort, showing the bobbles in a different color really makes them pop
Setup Step A (RS): Work to two stitches before the point of the bobble in the MC.
We work the stitches on either side of the bobble in BOTH the MC and CC. We do this to anchor the yarn a bit more, but it is different than what is in the pattern.
Step 1: Join CC and DO NOT cut MC. Knit one stitch with both the MC and CC.
Step 2: Drop the MC. Make bobble (MB) by (K1, yo, k1, yo, k1) in 1 st; cont…
Step 3: turn work and p5; cont…
Step 4: turn work and k5; cont…
Step 5: turn work and p5; cont…
Step 6: turn work and sl 4 sts kwise; cont…
Step 7: sl 1 st pwise; cont…
Step 8: pass 1st 4 slipped sts (from Step 6) over the last one
Step 9: Knit one stitch with both the MC and CC. Clip CC.
The MC will be dragged over the bobble on the WS. Continue working with just the MC. When you come to the sts that were knitted with both colors, work both colors TOGETHER. DO NOT work them individually or you’ll create an increase.
You’re done!
Practice makes perfect
This is a great time to try it out with some scraps first. You want to make sure that your bobbles pop out and that you don’t have any holes.
