This cast on makes a pretty edge that we use on the Ulchabháin cowl and mittens.
It’s really just a modified long tail CO, so if you can do that you can do this.
Repeat steps 5 and 6 until all your stitches are cast on.
Remember, when you’re working the first row, do not work the slip knot. Simply slide it off and pull it out.
A couple notes

- The yarns will become twisted. If you’re casting on a lot of stitches, you’ll probably want to periodically remove the tangles if it looks like this
- Make sure to leave some room between each cast on stitch so the edge can stretch.
When you’re done, it should looks something like this.
If you’re not even doing colorwork, this can be a great detail to add to an edge. And if you *are* doing colorwork, what are you waiting for?
