I love it when things just kinda fall into place, don’t you?
About a week ago, I blogged about a bunch of patterns that were good for scraps and mini-skeins. It’s no secret that I LOVE mini-skeins! LOVE LOVE LOVE.
And this past weekend, we launched the January issue.
As luck has it, there are several patterns in the issue that are great for mini-skeins, scraps and other small amounts of yarn.
Caroline K Cowl
First up, we have the Caroline K Cowl
It’s a quick project and uses 5 different colors of yarn! And if you have more (or less) colors, you can make it with just those too.
Good French Collaborator Cowl
Up next, we have the Good French Collaborator Cowl
While our sample is made out of one single skein of yarn, it would be great made up where each section was a different color. How cool would it be in a variety of your favorite colors?
Vanilla Waffle Wrap
And look at our Vanilla Waffle Wrap
How cool would it be if you used a scrap for the edging? Or if you went crazy and did the rest of the wrap in coordinating scraps too? Or maybe, you just use a mini-skein set for color inspiration.
Speaking of, don’t miss our article on choosing colors. If you’re like me, you just might get lost in all the links, imagining the possibilities…
Another Idea
These are just three options. But if you have a bit more, I can also see you using leftover skeins on the Laraway Pullover. And maybe using one color for the stripes and another color for the sleeves. Go crazy and make it your own!
Fun, right?
I love playing with all the options!
So, take a look at the whole issue in a new light. What scraps might you be able to use? And if you have a bunch, you might want to try the magic knot method for joining them all together. No ends to weave in, using up a bunch of scraps – now that’s something to write home about, right?
Yeah, I thought so.
