I drew the winner!
But since I know a winner post is only interesting if you’re…the winner…here are a few other things for you.
The top 10 colors you all chose were:
Lake Heather
Fawn
Ocean Heather
Dark Green Heather
Stratosphere
Denim Heather
Light Grey
Sage Heather
Medium Grey
Merlot
Starting in upper left and going across, here they are:
With the exception of the merlot, everything is either green, blue or grey. I expected a lot more red. You guys surprised me!
And here’s a take on the top three color choices in Inis Oírr (Lake Heather, Fawn and Ocean Heather):
I like the darker one a lot! If it wasn’t so hard to knit dark cables (oh my eyes would NOT have been happy) I might have gone with it. But thankfully I chose Lake Heather because I have lots left to knit.
So you’re all curious who the winner is. I’ve emailed the winner and am just waiting for confirmation. I wish you all could have won but with almost 150 entries there was no way!
If you’re interested in Inis Oírr, why don’t you join us for the KAL? I know some of you were waiting to join until you heard who won the contest. Now that you know, why don’t you order your yarn and get going! It’s a beautiful project and camaraderie never hurt. We can use the company.
We’ve got an active thread on Ravelry where people are asking questions and posting pics of their progress. Kelly (the designer) is there as well. She answered a question this weekend about the amount of yarn she used (and it was a little less than the full 10 skeins so I’m actually a tiny bit further along than I thought!).
We also have a tutorial planned for cabling without a cable needle and don’t miss the designer’s tutorial on attaching the border (linked to from the pattern).
We have more fun planned for this KAL so stay tuned and join in!
That is interesting how no one chose red. 🙂
So many beautiful colors to choose from!
Congratulations to the winner. Looking forward to knitting along.
