I’m working on a Walk Together Shawl and it’s been the perfect choice for me!
In case you guys need a reminder, here’s the shawl:
It travels well and I’ve been able to work on it:
- During the Olympics
- In between checking Google Analytics
- While
stalkingchecking Hot Right Now during the launch - Whenever I wanted to get in a couple rows
The stockinette part of the pattern is easy to follow once I got the tab cast on done and the first couple of rows.
And I can’t say enough nice things about this Mellifera yarn.
The yarn is soft and bouncy and I just keep touching it all the time! I’m sure I’d be knitting faster if I just didn’t keep stopping to admire the yarn. Plus the dye job is gorgeous! It’s dappled while still looking “solid”. Know what I mean?
Now as for the pattern – it’s a really easy pattern to memorize. Just 4 increases in the same place on every RS row (for the first increase section) and WS rows are just plain. Easy peasy.
I love what the designer, Jaya, has to say about this pattern too (see the whole thread on Ravelry)
this design has been a year long dream, that’s finally seen the light of the day.
Plus, the center increases use a lifted increase which is my favorite to work. I feel like I can work them effortlessly and the look is great.
I like that the shawl uses 4 sections of increases so it encourages me to keep going (you know how some patterns do that?). And then, I can’t wait to get to use that magenta yarn!
Can you tell how much I’m enjoying this? The design, the pattern, the yarn – it’s all coming together so nicely.
Now I know all of you are thinking – “that’s great but is she ever going to finish something?”. Well hold onto your hats because I’m going to have an FO post coming up too. And if you’re too curious to wait, just visit the Knotions Instagram feed – I posted a pic of it last week (pre-Blocking).
Is it time yet to work on Walk Together some more?
