Haven’t you worn that outfit that just made you feel like you could take on the world? You know the one. It might have been the color, the style, those awesome stripes or that perfect purse.
Keep that in mind when choosing patterns, yarns and colors. Many of us gravitate toward neutrals because they’ll stand the test of time.
But I ask you – how long have your colors been yours? Probably a long time.
For me, it’s pink and purple. And maybe red. Hardly neutral, but neutral for me. It’s been that way for a long long time. In the past few years I’ve really tried to live that and accept it because it’s who I am and what I like. And it turns out that it really does make us perform better.
If you’re concerned, start small with just a tiny accessory, like a pair of mitts or a tiny scarf or a pair of socks. I guarantee you’ll find yourself looking at it all day. Touching it. Playing with it. Smiling at it when you see yourself in the mirror.
Most of us are shy.
Don’t be shy. Don’t just knit brown or grey or tan or black. You deserve more. Go for the pink and purple.

I agree that knitting colors we love can lift our mood and increase our pleasure in our craft. But having some nice larger items in some neutral shades can really set out beautiful colored item off and showcase it. So a few neutrals to really made our favorite color “pop”.
Agreed! It’s always a balance.
