The Amai Shawl, Japanese for ‘sweet’, has been designed to let gradient yarns shine. Treat yourself to TV-knitting and get a beautiful shawl as a reward. The pattern can be worked in any yarn weight and at any gauge you like. Instructions for worsted and fingering yarn are included. For other yarn weights, see notes at the end of the pattern.
The sample shawl does have an unfortunate error in it. The dark side triangle goes past the increase line and continues for a couple additional inches.
The pattern is not written this way and you should consider the look on the other side. We apologize for this error!

Worsted yarn: MC: Hobbii Woolpower Print (100% Wool; 175 yards [160 m]/100 g), 2 skeins

Fingering yarn: 570 yds [520 m] of MC and 390 yds [360 m] of CC.

Needles
Size US 6 (4 mm)* circular needles (at least 36” long) for worsted weight
Size US 1.5 (2.5 mm)* circular needles (at least 36” long) for fingering weight
*I’m a loose knitter, you may want to try larger needles if your gauge is average.
Notions
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends; 8 stitch markers (6 in color A, 2 in color B); 1 stitch holder
Gauge
Worsted yarn: 15 sts and 26.5 rows = 4” [10 cm] in garter stitch after blocking
Fingering yarn: 16 sts and 32 rows = 4” [10 cm] in garter stitch after blocking.
