US 4 (3,5mm) circular needles on 40” (100cm) cable

20 sts x 30 rows in dotted stockinette (section 3)
Gauge is not critical for this project, but a different gauge will change yardage requirements.

Directions
Set up
Using MC, CO 5 sts
Row 1: k1, p1, k1, p1, k1 (these are written as “@” later on)
Row 2: @
Repeat those 2 rows 3 more times. At the end of the last row, do not turn to work to other side, but instead rotate piece 90 degrees clockwise. Pick up and k4 sts along the edge of the short side. Rotate piece another 90 degrees. Pick up and k5 sts along the cast on edge; 14 sts.
Next Row (RS): @, pm, KYOK, yo, k2tog, KYOK, pm, @; 18 sts.
Next Row (WS): @, sm, yo, p to m, yo, sm; @ 20 sts.
Section 1
From now on when I knit my sample I added a YO between the 2nd and 3rd st of the seed stitch border, both on RS and WS rows, which I dropped in the next row, just to give more stretch to the border. I did not write this YO in the instructions.
Using MC:
Row 1: @, sm, KYOK, *k2tog, yo* to 1 st before m, KYOK, sm, @
Row 2: @, sm, yo, p to m, yo, sm, @
Row 3: @, sm, KYOK, *yo, k2tog* to 1 st before m, KYOK, sm, @
Row 4: same as row 2.
Repeat rows 1 to 4 another 5 times. Total 92 sts after row 24.
Stripe 1
Using MC:
Row 25: @, sm, kfb, kfb, k to 2 sts before m, kfb, kfb, sm, @
Row 26: @, sm, kfb, k to 1 sts before m, kfb, sm, @
Do not break MC, bring it along the edge; 98 sts.
Using CC1:
Repeat rows 25 and 26 another 5 times; 128 sts. Break CC1.
Using MC:
