ABOUT THE DESIGNER: JULIE DESJARDiNS / ACCROCHET
In French, “accro” means addict. ACCROchet is a play on words that goes a long way to explaining the person behind the brand: a 40 year old French-Canadian woman named Julie, who is, of course, a crochet addict.
By day, Julie is a Marketing and Communications professional in an out-of-home advertising firm – a job she loves; but her passion comes out after the 9 to 5, when she can finally sit down and create pretty things with yarn and a hook.
Julie’s family holds many people together: a man, two teenagers, a big dog and a small dog, and a very fat cat. They all live in a pretty blue house on the North shore of Montreal, in the province of Québec.
Julie keeps all of these lovely people and pets far, far away from her yarn and hooks, except for the female teenager who will periodically join her in the madness of a few stitches, or sometimes even an entire finished project.
