By nature, I am a person that loves the outdoors and all things flora and fauna. Very often, I am inspired by things that I see or hear on my walks, as is the case with Lazy Leaf Shawl. I fell in love with this particular leaf pattern because of its contemporary structure and imagined it in this large rectangular shawl, with the lazy little leaves meandering throughout. The edging is a simple slip-stitch pattern that is knitted onto the shawl. This is a good take-anywhere project, as the pattern is fairly simple. with all patterning on the right side rows. It is a soothing and methodical knitting mantra.

About the Designer: Karen George
I am a knit and crochet designer who now resides in the beautiful state of North Dakota. As a child, I had learned both crafts. I dabbled in other crafts as well and as an adult settled on knitting and crochet. Quite by accident, I discovered that I really enjoyed the finishing part of these crafts. I then went on to take classes from experienced designers and teachers and honed my skills. I enjoyed being a professional finisher to several yarn stores in Southern California where I lived at the time.
When my husband and I retired to North Dakota, I embraced all of the wonderful things that the northern prairie has to offer and strive to reflect this in my designs. I have published patterns in my Ravelry Shop. My Ravelry name is chainstitcher and my patterns are listed under the name Karen George as well as Designs by Georgie. I have also had designs published in Red Heart, Crochet World, Crochet! and Simply Crochet.
