I’m not a huge fan of neutral colors or light colors (I know, shocker).
But when I got the email from Sundara about the “Oh The Places We Will Go”, I was torn.
I loved loved LOVED the image that she showed with it. Something about that woman carrying that old suitcase on that pathway in the park just got me.
Yes – my name is Jody and I buy yarn because of the pics.
But, the yarn was very neutral. And very light brown. Out of all the neutrals, I like brown the least.
I waited and just let it sit. But I couldn’t get it out of my mind. That told me that I needed to buy it. So, I did!
I got the yarn a few weeks later and to my surprise (in a very happy way) it wasn’t brown! It was whites with bits of pink and yellow and blue. Still not my colors, but at least not brown.
I started a sock with it right away, but it just didn’t stick. It didn’t call to me to knit on it. So, it sat with just a bit of it knit for over a year.
And then, I saw it a bit ago and knew I wanted to do something else with it! It was just begging to become something.
I started on a pair of Sunrise Chevron socks (free Knotions pattern), but of course I made it my own:
- 72 sts versus 60
- I changed the K3tog to a K3togtbl

I’m totally surprised that I’m loving working with this yarn! I get so excited when I see a bit of the blue/pink/yellow coming up.

I’ve knit the ribbing and just about 1 repeat and I love it! I can’t wait to be able to wear these!
