Pattern Notes
These socks are worked in the round cuff-down. However, if you prefer to work them toe-up or on two circulars, please, don’t hesitate to do so.
Abbreviations
s3: slip 3rd stitch on left needle over the two sts to its right, k1, yo, k1
sryo: sl st to right hand needle with yarn in front, then pull yarn over the needle – st looks now as if there are two sts, you are not making a yarn over, you just pull it to the back! This is a sryo double stitch. This double stich is always knitted/purled together as one st. Do not make increases!

Rnds 1, 2 & 4: P1, k3, p1

Socks
Make 2
Using the long tail cast on method, CO 60 (65, 70) sts. Distribute evenly over 4 dpns and join to work in the rnd, being careful not to twist. PM.. Work Rose Bud Pattern for 6.25” or desired length of leg.
Work short row heel as follows:
Short Row Heel: The short row heel will be worked in stockinette stitch, back and forth, over half the sts. (If you are familiar with a different short row heel or prefer any other heel – work your prefered heel).
After you have completed your last row on the leg, k 30 (33, 35) sts onto one needle. You will work heel over these sts.
Turn, make a sryo as described above. Put sryo onto spare needle. P29 (32, 34). Turn, make a sryo as described above. Put sryo onto spare needle.
*K to the end of row, turn, make a sryo, put sryo onto spare needle, p to the end of row, turn, make a sryo, put sryo onto spare needle.* Repeat until 10 (11, 11) sts are left on main needle. You will have 10 (11, 12) double sts on each spare needle on either side of the main needle. Work one rnd over all 60 (65, 70) sts.
K across sts on main needle, k1 from spare needle, turn, sryo, p across main needle, p1 from spare needle, turn, sryo, *k sts of main needle including sryo st (double st worked as one), k1 from spare needle, turn, sryo, p across main needle, p sryo double st as one, p1 from spare needle, turn, sryo*. Repeat between *’s until all sts from spare needles have been worked.
Foot
Redistribute sts over 3 needles as follows.
Heel sts are distributed onto needle 3 (first half) and needle 1 (second half). New beg of rnd is in the middle of the heel. Put marker at middle of the heel, this is the beginning of the rnd.. Work St st over all sts but the first and last five sts on needle two. Work those sts in rose bud pattern keeping continuity of pattern from leg:
Size Small: Needle 3 – k15, Needle 1 – k15, Needle 2 – [p1, k3, p1] (Rose Bud), k20, [p1, k3, p1] (Rose Bud); 60 sts
Size Medium: Needle 3 – k8, k2tog, k7, Needle 1 – k16, Needle 2 – [p1, k3, p1] (Rose Bud), k10, k2tog, k11, [p1, k3, p1] (Rose Bud); 64 sts
Size Large: Needle 3 – k8, k2tog, k8, Needle 1 – k8, k2tog, k8, Needle 2 – [p1, k3, p1] (Rose Bud], k2tog, k22, ssk, [p1, k3, p1] (Rose Bud); 68 sts
Work in the rnd until foot is 2” shorter than desired length.
Round Toe

Redistribute sts evenly on 4 DPNs by splitting instep sts evenly onto 2 DPNs
Setup Rnd 1 (size SMALL): K2tog at beginning of each needle; 14 sts on each needle
Setup Rnd 1 (size MEDIUM): Work evenly; 16 sts on each needle
Setup Rnd 1 (size LARGE): K2tog at beg of each needle; 16 sts on each needle
Note: for the next 21 rnds, when 2 sets of numbers are given they are for S (M and L)
Rnd 2: [K2tog, k5 (6), k2tog, k5 (6)] on each needle
Rnds 3 – 7: K
Rnd 8: [K2tog, k4 (5), k2tog, k4 (5)] on each needle
Rnds 9 – 12: K
Rnd 13: [K2tog, k3 (4), k2tog, k3 (4)] on each needle
Rnds 14 – 16: K
Rnd 17: [K2tog, k2 (3), k2tog, k2 (3)] on each needle
Rnds 18 – 19: K
Rnd 20: [K2tog, k1 (2), k2tog, k1 (2)] on each needle

Small Size Only
Rnd 22: [K2tog twice] on each needle

Rnd 22: [K2tog, k1, k2tog, k1] on each needle

All Sizes
Cut yarn and pull through all 8 sts.
You may work this toe instead of the round toe above (not shown in pictures). Be sure that sts are divided evenly. Decrease as follows.
Needles 1 & 3: Knit to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1
Needles 2 & 4: K1, skp, k to end of needle
Work decreases on rows 1, 5, 8, 11, 13, 15, 17 of toe. From row 18 onwards work decreases on every row until 8 sts rem. Cut yarn and pull through all 8 sts.
Finishing
Weave in all loose ends.
