This was my final swatch from the book and it did NOT disappoint!
You see all those ribs on the top and bottom? I was dreading them because, in general, that much ribbing is persona non grata.
For this swatch, I used:
- Brooklyn Tweed Imbue Sport in Tapestry
- US #5/3.75 mm Chiaogoo circulars
W
This swatch was fun too, even though it had fewer different things:
- ribbing (both because it stays flat, but also how it fed into the cabling seamlessly)
- cables
General Info on my Blanket Swatches
Each of my swatches was NOT blocked. I did that deliberately because who in their right mind would block a blanket every time they washed it? So, I wanted you to see reality. As you can see though, the Imbue yarn did beautifully! I also didn’t weave in the ends so you couldn’t mistake it for a whole blanket (it’s so hard to know scale when it’s online).
Final Thoughts on Branching
This one surprised me tbh.
I chose it because I felt that I should pick a “simpler” one after Homewood and Umaro. But it turns out that I really enjoyed it!
About the Knitter: Jody Richards
Jody is the founder and lead editor of Knotions. She loves poring over stitch dictionaries and trying out new stitches.
She’s also on a mission to get everyone to embrace the blocking. And, to avoid using garter stitch edges in knit swatches made for gauge.
And while she likes all things crafting (well ok, except that one thing), yarn crafts are her true love (and she has the stash to prove it).
