Pattern Notes
This pattern (both hat and mitts) is worked in the round from the bottom up. The mitts are worked identically and may be worn on either hand.
Hat
CO 90 (100, 110, 120) sts. Join to work in the round, being careful not to twist.
Work 10 rnds of 5×5 rib (k5, p5).
Begin Chart 1, working 9 (10, 11, 12) times around.
Rep Chart 1 a total of 3 (4, 4, 4) times, then work rnds 1-19 of Chart 1.
Chart 2
Begin Chart 2, working 9 (10, 11, 12) times around.
Work rnds 1-7 of Chart 2 0 (1, 1, 1) times.
Work rnds 14-17 of chart 2.
Sizes 20-24” only: work rnds 16 and 17 one more time.
Cut yarn. Thread onto tapestry needle and pass through rem sts. Pull tight and fasten securely.
