Melusina’s Gauntlets feature a 4-rib braid with different types of crosses on the back of the hand. The cuff is knit on at the end and shaped with strategically-placed cables.
Imagine the beautiful Melusina wearing these gauntlets when she leaves the castle for her weekly ride to the lake, trusting her husband’s promise never to follow her on these excursions. But inevitably, he one day sets out to discover her secret. The moment he arrives at the lake and watches her turn into a mermaid, her fate is sealed. Heartbroken, she must leave him and her children and return to the water forever.
