This scarf plus the Autumn Aspen Hat
When I picture summer crocheting for accessories, I see cotton blends, and lacy patterns. In Florida, cotton blends are a must all year, and hats and scarves aren’t really worn much, unless you work in a cold office. But I do know that when I go visit my family in New Jersey for the 4th of July, outside of unexpected heat waves, the mornings and evenings are breezy and cool, and the days are just gorgeous. Being there, I can see myself running around town, visiting Lady Liberty or walking the pier wearing this elegant infinity scarf featuring the beautiful, lacy v-stitch pattern.
In the designing process, I thought: how cool would this scarf be in a colorblock pattern? I went to my yarn stash, and found lonely single skeins of the coffee milk, and hammersmith colorways, and knew they’d be perfect!
Even though I designed this scarf for a warm summer, while working, I couldn’t help but picture being up on a mountain in the fall. If you search “fall aspen San Juan mountain”, you will find stunning pictures of gray mountains in the background surrounded by golden aspen trees – and this is what my design is named after.
If you don’t like infinity scarves, you can easily make this a regular scarf by not joining the edges together. Simple!

These colours are just beautiful together. Here in the UK we often need a light scarf even in summer, especially in the evenings!

I like the colors that Alexandra picked too 🙂

In Florida too! Berroco’s Modern Cotton is pretty much my year round go-to yarn. It’s nice and soft too.
